What can I expect from 123ce courses?
123ce was founded in 1984 as the American Academy of Independent Studies (AAIS) to meet the certification, recertification, and continuing education needs of the food service industry.
Our online, independent study method means you can learn from home, on your own schedule, and at your own pace. Independent study is a convenient, affordable, and proven way to learn — used successfully by millions of people around the world.
How can I be sure 123ce provides quality educational services?
Our courses are reviewed and approved by the education department of the American Culinary Federation. That means you can enroll with confidence—knowing your certification meets industry standards.
How long will it take me to complete a course?
123ce courses are designed to fit your schedule. You set your own pace and study when it works best for you. Most courses must be completed within six (6) months, while 50-hour Business CE Courses allow up to one (1) year for completion. Many students finish their courses in a month or less.
What is a 123ce course like?
Each course is developed by industry professionals and includes Learning Guides that walk you through the material in a clear and engaging way. Courses typically include one to four multiple-choice exams.

Do I need prior training or experience to enroll?
No prior training is required. While having a high school diploma can be helpful, it’s not necessary. As long as you’re comfortable with basic math, proficient in English, and ready to dedicate a few hours a week to your studies, you’ll be set up for success in your 123ce course.
