Study Materials

At the heart of your learning experience is the Study Guide. The Study Guide is designed specifically for external independent study. The Guide is used in conjunction with up-to-date text/e-books, which contain the relevant subject matter for courses of 10 hours or more. For courses that are less than ten hours, students receive a Learning Guide only.

Both the Study Guide and Learning Guides take the place of weekly classroom lectures and explain in detail what students are expected to master or understand and why it is important. They provide the steps needed in order to learn the subject material along with determining how well students are progressing. Students work through these Guides and complete assignments at their own pace. Multiple choice exams serve as the means of evaluating student learning.
